This bold, abstract blue pendant has been made from a piece of lovely blue plastic litter picked from Perranport beach in Cornwall. It most probably started off life as a fishing crate. It still bears the marks left by its journey from the factory, as its life as a crate, across the sea onto rocks and finally onto the beach – it is scratched and I’ve left these on as I like them and feel that it adds to the character and story of the piece.
It is a strong, statement piece with a story.
The brass shapes set onto the blue are reminiscent of a shoal of fish darting through the sea, and the pink circle is made from a piece of fishing bouy, also salvaged from a beach.
It hangs on a brass and silver chain which fastens with a simple clasp at the back. The chain measures 30 cm from clasp to pendant.
The pendant measures 8.5 x 4 cm (5 cm cincluding the pink circle).
