This Shipwreck necklace comes out different every time I make it – so this is a real one-off.

Inspired by and in awe of shipwrecks – The skeletons of huge wooden boats that I used to go and see sinking down into the muddy river banks of the River Ribble in Preston over 30 years ago when I was living there to do my degree in 3D design (where I specialised in jewellery design, glass and ceramics). I took a few photos on my old Olympus camera – I have no idea where those pictures are now, but I have the images of them imprinted directly onto my head forever. They left such an impression on me, I think I’ll be forever inspired by them.

They have stayed in my head all this time. I think I took a few snaps on my old Olympus camera – where those photos are now I don’t know – but the pictures of them have stayed in my head.

Huge wooden ribs with weed and creatures living on them, gribble worms drillling their way through their great oaky bulk. The shapes that were left behind; the shapes between the shapes.

You can wear this necklace either way round; I have hammered, stamped, punched, smoothed – textures on both sides. A reversible necklace!

Pictured here with some shipwreck earrings.

Made to order. Please feel free to email me for more images of anything I have in stock.
